  • 2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls1

  • 10 slices provolone cheese1

  • 1 pound deli roast beef, shaved or thinly sliced1

  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter1

  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt1

  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped1

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat1.

  2. Add onions and sugar and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions begin to soften and brown (about 5 minutes)1.

  3. Add salt and pepper and reduce heat to medium1.

  4. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and caramelized (10-15 more minutes). Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature1.
